The below is the Welcome letter from ANE 2020 Chairperson: Bazil Remblai

Hey all you flappers, dappers, daddies, dames, janes, fellas, and everyone in between! Welcome to the party of a lifetime! My name’s Bazil, and I’ll be your host for the weekend in this swank hotel. 

For those of you who know me from previous cons, this must come as a shock — strangely enough, it was a shock to me, too! When I joined the ANE staff just two years ago, I broke my vow of “always helping but never staffing”. The Games Room needed a lead, and I was not about to abandon the room where I spent so much time and had so much enjoyment. That room would be a great forever-home for this old dog!

After last year’s convention, however, I was informed that by popular vote the whole con space was now considered the Games Room. I was not prepared!

Thankfully, the ANE staff is much more than that: we are a family, and families make sure to support each other through all the hard work and dedication necessary to make our convention what it is! The end result is, I must say, a party like no other. I’m looking forward to watching all of you put on the Ritz and celebrate the new decade in style!

(I’ve also been told that once you’re in “the family” you can’t leave “the family.” Must be a Boston thing.)
