The below is the Welcome letter from ANE 2018 Chairperson: Hunter Hundchen

Welcome to Anthro New England 2018 and the high seas of the Boston Harbor! We’ve braved the waters of the Charles River to move ANE to its new home of Boston proper. Thank you to everyone old and new that has accepted our invitation to join the ANE family and explore the city with us.

ANE has been welcomed with open arms into the Boston Park Plaza. Our new home away from home, we hope that our guests treat the BPP as such by thanking the staff and being courteous. There’s an abundance of food options in the hotel and all around downtown Boston, not to mention all the exciting places to explore.

As it has always been, Anthro New England is a volunteer-based organization, meaning that every single staff member is devoting their personal time and effort to make this convention special out of the goodness of their heart. If you’d wish to become a part of the team, feel free to stop by Convention Operations to see what opportunities are available. You can work as little or as much as you like and could even receive rewards for your hard effort. And of course, if you ever need anything during the event or have comments or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to a staff member.

Returning to ANE for their fourth year is our amazing charity, Massachusetts Vest-A-Dog. We are thrilled to be able to work with MAVAD once again to help in their mission of supporting and protecting Massachusetts’ Police dogs. We’re excited for MAVAD to share with you all what they were able to do with the $15,600 you helped raise at ANE 2017. It’s an honor to welcome them back and we hope that you will take the opportunity to stop by their table or showcase event and say, “Hello”,!

For 2018, ANE’s schedule of events is more packed than ever before with crafting, comedy, and more. The full schedule of events is available on our website. We’ll also be updating our guests on all things relevant via Twitter, so please follow us there @Anthro_NE. We hope that our plethora of events will entertain and delight you. And of course, please join us as we sit down and get to know our two Guests of Honor: Now and Later, and Rabbit Valley Comics!

Thanks to all of our guests for their smiles, cheer, and charity. You make all the hard work worth it to see you having fun at ANE.

“Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the things you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the wind in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – H. Jackson Brown Jr., P.S. I Love You
