The below is the Welcome letter from ANE 2017 Chairperson: Hunter Hundchen
Welcome to Anthro New England 2017! To those of you returning to ANE for your second or third year, welcome back to the winter wonderland that is Boston. Whether you’re a New England native or a traveler, it will be fantastic to see your smiling faces adorning our convention halls once again. To those of you joining us for the first time, we thank you for allowing us to spend a weekend with you, to get to know you, and to entertain you as you become a member of the ANE family.
Speaking of convention halls, none of this would be possible without the tremendous support and hospitality of the Hyatt Regency Cambridge and its team. The Hyatt is our home away from home and while you’re here, I encourage you to take a moment to thank them.
While you spend your time with us, it is our hope that you have the pleasure of meeting some of the ANE team. Anthro New England is a volunteer-based organization, meaning every staff member is devoting their own personal time and energy to make this convention special for everyone. So please, if you see a staff member, take a moment to thank them as they try to make your convention the best it can be. And if you’d wish to become a part of the team, feel free to stop by Convention Operations!
You can work as little or as much as you’d like and would be rewarded for your selflessness. If you ever need anything during the course of the event or have comments or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to a staff member.
As far as showcase events go, we are thrilled by all the exciting panels we have this year. The full schedule of events will be available on www.anthronewengland.com. We’ll also be updating our guests on all things relevant via Twitter, so please follow us there (@Anthro_NE). We hope that our plethora of events ranging from crafts to science, from acting to the fine art of throwing pies, will entertain and delight you. And of course, please join us as we sit down and get to know our two Guests of Honor: Lady Rain and Riley, and our beloved charity, Massachusetts Vest-A-Dog!
