ANTHRO NEW ENGLAND 2023 COVID-19 POLICY.
Last revised DECEMBER 5, 2022
INTRODUCTION.
This policy includes measures we are taking to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Attendees are required to follow these rules to maintain a healthy and safe venue during this on-going pandemic. We have zero tolerance for anyone who would shirk these guidelines, as that would put other attendees at risk of exposure. The health and safety of our attendees is our top priority.
These policies apply to all staff, volunteers and attendees of Anthro New England who physically participate in any/all convention events. This includes following the guidelines and measures put into place by the City of Boston, the CDC, Anthro New England and the Westin Boston Seaport Hotel.
These policies are subject to change without prior notice, due to the ongoing evolution of the pandemic.
VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS.
For the safety of all attendees, we require proof (digital or physical) of a series of vaccination doses against COVID-19. We will accept official state-supplied digital COVID Vaccination cards.
The requirements are:
- a primary series of either:
- two (2) doses of an mRNA vaccine (Moderna, Pfizer, AstraZenica)
- one (1) dose of a single dose vaccine (Johnson & Johnson, Novavax)
- plus:
- one (1) dose of a booster vaccine (Moderna, Pfizer, Novavax)
- if you have received a COVID-19 vaccination that is not listed above, please email us at [email protected].
MASKS REQUIRED.
To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, Anthro New England requires that masks are worn in all indoor public spaces, which includes all convention spaces. Masks MUST cover both your mouth and your nose. A balaclava or mask must be worn under all fursuit heads, and it must cover both your mouth and your nose. We have a one-strike policy; con safety will only ask you to wear your mask properly once. If you have to be asked a second time, your badge will be revoked.
SOCIAL DISTANCING.
The CDC advises that everyone maintain a six-foot distance from each other. Keeping distance further helps to minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19 to others, especially those that may be more susceptible to the virus. Please follow all designated paths and markers in rooms such as the Dealers’ Den, Artists’ Alley, Registration, and main Ballrooms. Please avoid crowding areas such as the Lobby, Mezzanines and all additional large convention spaces.
FOLLOW CDC GUIDELINES.
Wash your hands, avoid touching your face with unwashed hands, and monitor your health – if you are showing any symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough, shortness of breath, etc.) or if you have tested positive and not isolated for at least 5 days, we ask that you please do not attend the convention for the safety of yourself and others.
