Anthro New England 2018 is only possible thanks to our dedicated volunteers.

Thank you for taking the time to see what volunteering is all about.

If I want to volunteer, what job will I get?

Furry conventions need all kinds of volunteers to help — we’ll work with you to find the right job for your skills and comfort level.

How long do I have to volunteer for?

That’s completely your choice. You can work as little or as much as you’d like.

What do I get as a reward for volunteering?

You get great perks for volunteering at Anthro New England 2018. The specifics are below in our Volunteer Guidelines.

Volunteer Guidelines

Volunteers are the core of Anthro New England. Without you, we wouldn’t be able to host such an amazing furry con.

Volunteering Essentials:

  • Most volunteers help anywhere from 4 to 20 hours throughout the convention
  • You will know your responsibilities and schedule in advance
  • The more hours you volunteer, the more rewards you receive

Once your Volunteer Application is submitted, we’ll reach out and work with you to find the responsibilities you’re most comfortable with. Generally, we need help in these areas:

  • Badge Checkpoints
  • Game Room Attendants
  • Registration Attendants

You have great skills and we want to put them to great use. Keep in mind Anthro New England may need your help in a variety of departments, and we appreciate your flexibility.

We want our volunteers to love Anthro New England. Before the convention, we’ll work with you to schedule shifts. You’ll know exactly when you’ll be helping and when you’ll be free, so you can have fun with friends.

Generally, shifts are scheduled in 4 hour blocks.

Anthro New England volunteers are rewarded with discounted registration for next year’s convention. Discounts are tiered based on how many hours you volunteer:

  • 4 hours, but less than 8 — 25% registration discount
  • 8 hours, but less than 12 — 50% registration discount
  • 12 hours, but less than 16 — 75% registration discount
  • 16 hours, but less than 20 — 100% registration discount
  • 20 hours, or more — 100% registration discount + shirt

Night shifts earn discounts 1.5 times faster than their daytime counterparts. Every volunteering hour after 10:00PM EST and before 8:00AM EST at Anthro New England 2018 will count as 1.5 hours when tallied for rewards.

Take two minutes and fill out the Volunteer Application above. We would love to hear from you.
